Christine Stevens & Cherish Thomas Share Their Stories

Our two excellent guests both spent time in foster care as children.

Christine Stevens was adopted at age 8, search out her birth father’s family and went to live with him at 19, returned to her adoptive parents in her early 20′s and wrote an excellent article in NACAC’s Winter 2012 Adoptalk entitled “The True Meaning of Adoption and Family” about her experiences. We talk about that article in this interview.

Our second guest was Cherish Thomas, founder of CherishOurYouth.Org, aged out of the Michigan foster care system without a permanent family after having been adopted twice. She earned her B.A. and Master’s in Social Work at age 23 and works full time as a social worker licensing families. She shares her inspiring story in this interview Play Radio Show Here
