Melinda S. Haggerty, adopted at 18, and Her Mom, Barbara Goldman, Share Their Story

Tonight’s guest is Melinda S. Haggerty and her adoptive mother Barbara Goldman. Moved in at 13 and adopted at 18, Melinda and Barbara share their story. They talk about birthparent connections and issues, resolving anger and issues of the past, share why it’s important to have an adoptive parent well past 18, and also the importance of getting counseling not only as an individual but also as a family. Melinda is an attorney and the Director of Children’s Initiatives for the Ohio Attorney General. Barbara is a licensed social worker and retired Franklin County Children’s Services worker and supervisor. A great discussion. Pat and Chester host Play Radio Show Here
